Honestly the best individual hotpot experience. Highly recommend the sukiyaki soup base with the short plate combo. Daily drink specials (non-alcoholic) are always amazing. We had lychee green tea and winter melon tea the time before and it was 🔥 The staff are always incredible and the service is fast. Only bummer is no reservations but you can join the waitlist online!

My friend and I checked this out last week while she was visiting from out of town. She's had hot pot before, I have not. Our waitress was amazing! She explained how it all worked, what cuts of meat worked best with what, described the textures of the cuts, to the point where I felt like a pro in minutes lol. I'm also a fussy eater and she was so kind and helpful with my dish. 10/10 will go back when I'm in the area.

Cool autumn nights calls for shabu shabu! Enjoyed my time at gokudo, from the food to the atmosphere. The staff was really friendly, came on a Thursday night and it was busy but not too busy. Usually you need your whole party there when they seat you but they let me in anyway! So nice of them ☺️ I really liked their combo menu which come with a drink and dessert. Not something I have all the time but it really did make the meal feel complete. The milk tea was very nice, almost had a floral taste to it - that was the drink of the day. I think this may rotate? The broth options were so fun to choose from! I had the sukiyaki base and it was really flavorful. Each person got their own hot pot that you can also control the temperature for. With the soup base you also choose a meat or veggie platter to cook in addition to the base set (veggies, tofu, etc.) and your choice of noodles or rice. Seriously accommodating to everyone including vegetarians and vegans.
